What is ANISO-QUAD ?
Many finite element formulations in the computational fluid dynamics lead to elements with large aspect ratios. Such elements can be concentrated in a particular place within the domain, and often it is desirable to generate ordinary elements in the remaining part. This becomes even more complicated if both "anisotropic" and "ordinary" elements have to be quadrilateral, and the mesh must produce a smooth transition between the two parts of the domain.
This is where ANISO-QUAD comes handy. ANISO-QUAD is quadrilaterals-only mesh generator that can generate both highly anisotropic and isotropic meshes within one and the same domain. It can even handle a group of such domains at a time, regardless of whether their boundaries have common edges or not.
ANISO-QUAD is written in C and distributed in the complete source code form as well as an executable. It is designed to be included into your own FEA modelling program at the source code level. ANISO-QUAD has a single entry point: the calling program has to provide three simple data structures, describing the domain geometry. On output, ANISO-QUAD will return nodal coordinates and element connectivities in a format similar to any other FEA preprocessing program.
Licensing, delivery and support
We provide one-off, full commercial license, which allows incorporation ANISO-QUAD into your finite element system at the source code level. The standard distribution of ANISO-QUAD includes:
- fully-commented source code of the program in ANSI C that will compile and run on all Windows and UNIX platforms;
- graphical demonstration program QUAD-PRO (for the Windows platforms only) that will display both input and output data for ANISO-QUAD for the purpose of visual representation;
- detailed User Manual, with comprehensive description of input and output data structures, and example driver routines. These will allow incorporation of ANISO-QUAD into your system with minimal effort.
