


Cees
Sliedrecht was born in The Netherlands where he studied fine Arts in
Rotterdam and The Hague.
After completing his teaching qualifications he moved to Australia and has since become an active part of the Queensland Art Scene.
Cees is not only an awarded, recognised and accomplished Artist, but also an Art Tutor, delivering Fine Art Courses at TAFE Colleges, Art Societies, the Brisbane Arts Academy and at his own Art School: Aquartists ( Academy of Queensland Artists ).
Cees leads workshops in art both in Queensland and New South Wales (among others, Grafton Artsfest's Outreach workshops at Inverell and Armidale, the Charles Sturt University [Mitchell School of Arts] at Bathurst, and the University of Southern Queensland [McGregor Schools] in Toowoomba).
His works, usually painted in mixed media, are semi abstract, portraying people in communication, city and country scenes, nature in all its different shapes, still life and water scenes. Cees' works are displayed in a number of Brisbane Art Galleries as well as in his own Studio at 18 Erica Street Cannon Hill, Queensland.
Cees is frequently asked to judge artworks at exhibitions and in competitions. He was Chief Judge of the 2008 and 2009 ‘Art from the Margins’ exhibition which is part of the Brisbane Festival. He was President of the Watercolour Society of Queensland in 2003 – 2004 and is presently President of The Half Dozen Group of Artists (membership of over 150 artists).
