Cees SliedrechtCees Sliedrecht was born in The Netherlands where he studied fine Arts in Rotterdam and The Hague.

After completing his teaching qualifications he moved to Australia and has since become an active part of the Queensland Art Scene.

Cees is not only an awarded, recognised and accomplished Artist, but also an Art Tutor. He delivers Fine Art Courses at Art Societies and Art groups around the country and at his own Art School: Aquartists ( Academy of Queensland Artists ). He was President of a number of Art groups, including the Watercolour Society of Queensland in 2003 – 2004.

Cees leads art workshops in both Queensland and New South Wales. His resume includes conducting art courses at TAFE Queensland and holding workshops at McGregor Schools ( University of Southern Queensland ), Mitchell School of Arts, Bathurst and the former Grafton Arts Fest. In 2012 Cees is scheduled to tutor in Queensland country areas, such as Rockhampton, Perseverance and Bribie Island.

His works, usually painted in mixed media, are semi abstract, portraying people in communication, city and country scenes, nature in all its different shapes, still life and water scenes. Cees' works are displayed at his gallery at 18 Erica Street Cannon Hill, Queensland.

Cees is frequently asked to judge artworks at exhibitions and in competitions. He was Chief Judge of the 2008, 2009 and 2010 "Art from the Margins" exhibition which is part of the Brisbane Festival.

Cees includes in his judging a presentation at openings of his selection criteria and provides feedback to award winning and all other participating artists. He tours groups of people through the exhibition for educational and art development purposes if required.
